Adjectifs courts (1 syllabe) : -er / the -est

tall → taller → the tallest ; cheap → cheaper → the cheapest. Voyelle + consonne : on double : big → bigger → the biggest.

Adjectifs en -y : -ier / the -iest

happy → happier → the happiest ; easy → easier → the easiest.

Adjectifs longs : more / the most

interesting → more interesting → the most interesting ; expensive → more expensive → the most expensive.

À éviter : This hotel is more cheap.

Correct : This hotel is cheaper.= Cet hôtel est moins cher.

C’est soit -er, soit more.
