1. A piece of cake

« The exam? A piece of cake! »

2. To spill the beans

« Renverser les haricots ». Sens : vendre la mèche, révéler un secret.

« Come on, spill the beans: who’s your new boyfriend? »

3. A couch potato

« Since he got Netflix, my brother has become a real couch potato. »

4. The icing on the cake

« Great hotel, sunny weather… and a free upgrade. The icing on the cake! »

5. Not my cup of tea

« Pas ma tasse de thé ». Sens : ce n’est pas mon truc.

« Horror films? Sorry, not my cup of tea. »

6. To go bananas

« Devenir bananes ».

« When their team scored, the fans went bananas. »

7. In a nutshell

« Dans une coquille de noix ». Sens : en bref, en résumé.

« In a nutshell: we’re late, and it’s raining. »
